Beth Israel Deaconess is a top teaching hospital of Harvard Med School located in Boston. The hospital has a level 1 Trauma Center, providing a full scope of training including ankle trauma and reconstructive procedures through VA Boston. Residents have access to clinical skills labs, cutting-edge lectures, and hands-on clinical experience in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including trauma, reconstructive, elective, and diabetic salvage procedures. Chief residents participate in an international mission trip and complex limb deformity correction with Dr. Brad Lamm in FL. Research is emphasized, and residents are supported to submit posters and manuscripts during training. The program also offers yearly surgical skills conferences, ACFAS conferences in the 2nd and 3rd year, and elective office rotations in the 3rd year. Residents also receive meal cards, and there is a mission trip to Honduras or Nicaragua. In Boston, residents can enjoy various attractions such as the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
