great for me

August 2, 2023

Attendings/Residents/Students (lifestyle, criticism, aura): all the attendings were great and very instructible/respectable. I only thought one was rude. The residents were all great and willing to help.

Didactics: not too much just a presentation topic

OR Experience: Great experience as I got to be hands on and learn from great surgeons

Clinic Experience: Also a great experience you get to see the pt and work them up before presenting to the attending or resident. Some good teachable moments

City Life: Hollywood was so much fun, I was happy to have gone to california for the first time here

Favorite Part: variety of surgical procedures/exposure

Constructive Criticism: none i liked my time here quite a bit

It’s a very good program. You would learn a lot coming here, but it’s a different lifestyle. If you enjoy trauma and crazy hours then it is perfect. If you like to know your schedule and what you are expected to do everyday then it’s not for you. It’s also a bit of good ole boys club so beware of that.

a little unorganized

March 6, 2023

Attendings/Residents/Students (lifestyle, criticism, aura): Felt as though the residents were a bit standoffish and seemed to be internal drama, the attendings were good

Didactics:

OR Experience: They need to reduce the hours. Hospital OR runs very poorly and often times we were stuck there til after midnight in surgery

Clinic Experience: one of the better experiences

Research Opportunities:

City Life:

Favorite Part: academics with other students

Constructive Criticism: a bit disorganized, residents were all over and seemed to blow off steam on us, also would have appreciated more time to collect myself at times
