Chino Valley Medical Center

4.0
4.0 out of 5 stars (based on 2 reviews)

Located outside of Los Angeles, the program is focused on producing skilled podiatric physicians capable of independent healthcare providers in lower extremity care. The program offers extensive surgical experience in various foot and ankle pathologies, including diabetic limb salvage, elective reconstruction, and trauma, far exceeding the required minimums in all categories. The residents work alongside allopathic and osteopathic residents and receive diverse training experience with attendings in private practice, academic, county hospitals, and Kaiser in Northern California. The program emphasizes developing critical thinking skills in addition to technical proficiency through a competency-based approach. Overall, this program provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring podiatric physicians to gain comprehensive training and experience.

Work hard play hard with this one

August 2, 2023

If you are willing to put in the work i would recommend this program as I feel like you can come out of this program being the best if you are willing to learn. Even if you just want to rotate somewhere to expand your knowledge this is the place with a great attitude i think this program would be great.

Attendings/Residents/Students (lifestyle, criticism, aura):

Dr. Lu and the other attendings were great.

Didactics:

Academics were great.

OR Experience:

Multiple hospitals, surgery centers, and limited surgeries mostly amps, bunions, and hammertoes.

Clinic Experience:

Lots of good clinic where you are both tested and learning.

Favorite Part:

Very academic program with a lot of clinic. Not much surgery students are able to see. No specific improvements

Constructive Criticism:

This is a very academic program. If you are looking to attend didactic sessions 2-3 times per week, 2 hours each

time, this would be a good fit. I did not spend much time in surgery at this program. I worked in the school clinic the

majority of the time seeing patients with third year students. Lots of opportunities to teach students as a resident.
