The DVA-Augusta offers a comprehensive residency program with a strong emphasis on clinical and surgical training, as well as didactic education. Residents have the opportunity to perform a variety of procedures and gain experience in advanced wound care modalities. Research opportunities are also available. The program is supported by specialties from both the Charlie Norwood VAMC and Augusta University School of Medicine, and residents are educated in billing & coding and have private practice rotations. Additionally, cadaver dissection experiences are offered when available. Augusta, GA offers plenty of things to do, including visiting the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, touring the Augusta Museum of History, exploring Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, and watching a performance at the historic Miller Theater.
