This three-year podiatric medicine and surgical residency program is focused on training well-qualified podiatric surgeons with expertise in all aspects of care. The program emphasizes critical thinking, decision making, and increasing responsibility for residents. Opportunities for podiatric research are abundant, and residents are expected to publish their work in a peer-reviewed journal before graduating. Extensive wound care training is also available, and attendings provide one-on-one instruction to residents. Those interested in externships are encouraged to apply. In Tucson, Arizona, visitors can explore attractions such as the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park, and the Pima Air & Space Museum.
