The program provides a surgical wet lab equipped for forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle procedures on cadaveric specimens. This includes full arthroscopy capabilities and fluoroscopy. Each resident receives three cadaveric limbs per year to enhance surgical skills and a personal set of surgical instruments. Residents also participate in a clinical case conference webcast moderated by faculty. The program offers extensive rotations, and the faculty consists of many ABFAS/ABPOPPM Board Certified podiatrists. The program library has the latest podiatric and orthopedic medicine texts and journals. Houston, Texas, offers several attractions such as Space Center Houston, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and the Buffalo Bayou Park, among others.
