The podiatric residency program at Jackson North Medical Center focuses on all sub-specialties of podiatric medicine, with a particular emphasis on foot and ankle trauma, including tibial fractures. The program heavily involves residents in inpatient management, emergency department call, and comprehensive foot and ankle surgery. Residents participate in yearly publishable research projects and have the opportunity to participate in ongoing medical research through our affiliation with the Brand Center of Research. The program aims to make residents independent and well-rounded physicians, and they can participate in multiple yearly medical mission trips with the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project. The program also provides a CME allowance of $2,000, a meal card worth $1,375, and additional benefits such as committee of interns/resident supplement pay, life insurance, disability insurance, health/dental insurance, and APMLE Part 3 reimbursement. In North Miami Beach, residents can enjoy various activities, such as visiting the Oleta River State Park, exploring the local beaches, shopping and dining at Aventura Mall, and visiting the Ancient Spanish Monastery.
