Well-rounded and reputable program

November 18, 2025

Attendings/Residents/Students (lifestyle, criticism, aura): The residents are very busy but still made time for externs to get to know us. I appreciated the hospitality greatly.

Didactics: Usually twice a week on Zoom during lunch hours making it convenient to join in.

OR Experience: Amazing, as they have the best and most efficiently trained attendings to work with. It was great to see their reasoning behind every conscious choice they made. Truly respectable because they were always willing to teach. Residents were also very efficient in the OR with great skills.

Clinic Experience: Not as fast paced but always new things to see and the ability to take stress radiographs in clinic for a lisfranc’s for example was extremely efficient.

Research Opportunities: Not only a requirement but highly supportive environment as they really push for research advancements.

City Life: Amazing city of San Francisco with great food, views, and architecture to expolore.

Favorite Part: Efficient schedule for students to get a chance to see most locations as they all differed from one another, SF was my favorite.

Constructive Criticism: I honestly have none for this program, their work speaks volumes as does their hospitality in hosting externs.

Great surgical training with great diversity of cases. Lots of opportunity to do research as well if that is your thing. Residents are very busy with work and all come out very well trained. Great culture as well. Highly recommend anyone to rotate through here.
