Attendings/Residents/Students (lifestyle, criticism, aura): Attendings were nice. Residents were .. competent but not the most friendly. It felt like a high maintenance girl’s club, including drama.

Didactics: Not bad, pretty standard for programs.

OR Experience: OR experience was pretty good when there were cases. Attendings mostly allowed for skin to skin.

Clinic Experience: Short. Residents usually finished everything by 1 PM every day.

Research Opportunities: I can’t speak on this as it was never brought up during my externship.

City Life: NYC was about an hour train ride away. Otherwise generic Long Island city

Favorite Part: nice attendings, surgical cases

Constructive Criticism: Maybe it was just the time I was there, but residents would be done with everything by 2 PM at latest every day. A lot of sitting around with not a lot for externs to do.
