The program is a 3-year long residency leading to rearfoot and ankle reconstruction added credential. St. Barnabas Hospital is a regional trauma and stroke center where residents get experience with orthopedic injuries, diabetic foot infection cases, wound care and clinics. Residents work with infectious disease, vascular, internal medicine and general surgery teams. The program offers medical and dental insurance for residents and their families, and residents must have a car to travel to different sites. In the Bronx, residents can visit the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, and the Yankee Stadium.

Busy clinics, I remember one was run by an attending who is nice to externs but nasty to residents. It seemed like the residents were largely the ones running the show, besides this clinic there was not much attending presence or guidance imo. Hospital is dark and old and depressing. Bad surrounding neighborhood. Low case volume.
