The St. Elizabeth’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency Program is a 3-year PMR/RRA program that provides a well-structured rotational system with an emphasis on competency-driven training. The program is designed to provide residents with greater responsibility in patient care and decision-making as they progress through their training. Didactic activities such as journal clubs, skills workshops, case reviews, and lectures complement clinical experiences. Research opportunities are also available and are required for graduation. The program has a high volume and diversity of medical and surgical cases due to a combination of community-based and referral patients. The residents are integrated into outpatient clinics, which allows for their involvement throughout. Boston is a city filled with history, culture, and attractions such as the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the New England Aquarium.
