In this PMSR/RRA program, residents are exposed to a diverse range of foot and ankle pathology with surgical and clinical numbers exceeding CPME requirements. The program is integrated with allopathic residents, and residents follow up with all post-operative University Hospital patients in the podiatry clinic. The program is located in an academic health science center and the principal teaching hospital for the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, providing access to on-campus libraries, skills labs, and lectures. Research opportunities are also available. Newark, New Jersey is a vibrant city with plenty of activities for visitors. Some popular attractions include the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Prudential Center, which hosts concerts and sporting events. Other places to visit include the Branch Brook Park, which has the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the country, and the Ironbound neighborhood, known for its Portuguese and Spanish cuisine. Visitors can also take a walking tour of the city’s historic sites or visit the Newark Public Library, which has a large collection of books and rare manuscripts.
