The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center offers a 36-month program for comprehensive surgical education with an emphasis on complex rearfoot reconstructive surgery. The program has over 30 podiatric surgeons and offers opportunities to work with multiple orthopedic surgeons daily. The residents participate in numerous surgical procedures that far exceed CPME requirements. Didactic activities like radiology rounds, journal clubs, cadaver lab or lecture are conducted three times weekly. In Pittsburgh, one can visit popular tourist destinations like the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Point State Park, and the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
